The following materials will be accepted during the event:
Household Chemicals & Cleaners
Paint & Related Products
Automotive Products
Yard & Pool Products
Batteries
White Goods (Appliances)
For safety and regulatory reasons, the following items will not be accepted:
If you have questions about a specific item, please contact us before the event at 936-632-5326.
Why can’t you accept TVs or computer monitors?
Televisions and monitors require specialized electronic waste (e-waste) recycling and cannot be processed through our contracted Household Hazardous Waste vendor for this event. These items contain components such as leaded glass and circuit boards that must be handled through designated electronics recycling programs.
What should I do with TVs or monitors?
Please contact the City of Lufkin Solid Waste/Recycling Center for information on approved electronic recycling options, or watch for scheduled e-waste collection events in our area.
Tires require separate recycling equipment and disposal contracts that are not included in this Household Hazardous Waste event. Accepting tires would significantly increase disposal costs and logistical requirements.
What should I do with old tires?
Please contact the City of Lufkin Solid Waste Department for information about approved tire recycling days or local tire retailers who may accept used tires for proper disposal.
These materials present significant safety risks and require specialized handling and disposal procedures that fall outside the scope of this event.
What should I do with these items?
Contact your local law enforcement agency or fire department for guidance on proper disposal procedures.
This event is funded and structured to serve residential households. Commercial or business waste often involves larger volumes and different regulatory requirements that must be handled through licensed commercial disposal services.
If you represent a business, please contact a licensed hazardous waste contractor for disposal options.
