Education is the most powerful weapon we have to change the world. ABC partners with area schools and summer programs to offer environmental education sessions.

As we begin planning for Year 3 of Reforest Lufkin, we are excited to build on the momentum created over the past two years. Since the program's launch, Reforest Lufkin has helped distribute thousands of tree seedlings to residents throughout East Texas, empowering families to plant and care for trees on their own properties. In addition, volunteers and community partners have worked together to plant hundreds of trees in local parks and public spaces throughout the City of Lufkin, helping to improve wildlife habitat, increase shade, enhance beauty, and create a healthier environment for future generations.
These accomplishments would not have been possible without the support of dedicated volunteers, local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders who share our vision for a greener Lufkin. As we plan for Year 3, we are exploring new planting opportunities, expanding educational programming, and strengthening partnerships to ensure the project continues to grow. From community tree plantings and Arbor Day celebrations to seedling giveaways and educational workshops, Reforest Lufkin remains committed to creating a lasting legacy that will benefit our community for decades to come.
eharm 2025 was another impactful year for Reforest Lufkin as volunteers, community partners, and local organizations came together to expand Lufkin's urban forest. From community tree plantings and educational workshops to seedling giveaways and Arbor Day celebrations, the program continued its mission of creating a greener, healthier, and more beautiful community. We hosted 3 tree talks educating people on how to better take care of their trees. We had nearly 80 volunteers show up and show out to plant 60 trees in Kit McConnico Park! Thousands of seedlings were distributed to residents at different seedling giveaway throughout the year.
